General Duties and Responsibilities
Augusta University, formerly known as The Medical College of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences to engage in the teaching and research in the Master of Science in Allied Health with emphasis in Nutrition – Dietetic Internship program (MS-DI). This is a 12-month appointment.
The Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences is comprised of graduate-level programs. Specifically, the department offers the Master of Public Health degree, Master of Science in Allied Health with emphasis in Nutrition degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Health Sciences degree. - Registered Dietitian credential with at least 7 years of experience
- Will obtain and maintain appropriate state licensure
- An earned Master’s degree in nutrition or closely related field; or willing to complete a minimum of Master’s Degree
- Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate ability for effective teaching and scholarship.
- Academic background in clinical nutrition instruction
- Experience as dietetic internship preceptor
- Obtained specialty certification (i.e. RDN-AP, CNSC, CDE, CSP, CSO)
Conditions of Employment
All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review. For specific positions, the final candidate may be subject to a (pre-employment) physical, drug screen, and/or credit check.
The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
